BACK TO THE ZOO
I had not been to the zoo in about 6 years , and I finaly had some free time , so this past weekend I decided to check out the Oregon Zoo. The zoo here is beautiful! I wish the LA zoo was this nicely laid out .Back at Cal Arts I was at the LA zoo almost every week for four years. I'm a little rusty now , but here are a few drawings from my weekend trip. The Chimp was like a crazy old man.

And Piotr , I use something different every time I go to the zoo. Usualy whatever is closest as I walk out the door. But this time I used a precise pen #03 , and a Prismacolor marker for that one elephant sketch.Changing tools helps keep me loose and forces me to deal with things in a straight forward way.

Great sketches Shane! Piece of advice stay away from the plastic forks at the zoo cafe they recycle them in some blue liquid.

Dude, they've pretty much redone some of the LA zoo, next time your in town you oughta go! I've been dying to go but have been swamped--rad drawings as always me compadre!
